2011, l’any en el qual la gent va deixar de regalar discos definitivament.

L’any 2011 arriba a la seva fi, l’any en el qual la gent va deixar de regalar discos definitivament. No fa tant de temps, un disc era un d’aquells regals infalibles, personals i agraïts. El pas del vinil al disc compacte li va treure espectacularitat i proporcions, i com que un CD semblava poca cosa, fins i tot se’n regalava més d’un. A l’any 2011, tant és. Queda algú que vagi a la prestatgeria, agafi un disc, premi play a la mini-cadena i se l’escolti? Algú queda, com encara queda gent que fuma en pipa, que envia postals quan marxa de viatge o s’escalfa la llet al foc i no amb el microones. No obstant, a l’any 2011 la música ha passat definitivament a ser uns i zeros per la majoria de la gent: aquell últim reducte de la supervivència dels discos, l’objecte de regal, ha caigut. Està millor vist regalar una figureta de porcellana, encara que només serveixi per acumular pols, que no un disc compacte que es desprecintarà gairebé per compromís. En els millors dels casos, a l’any 2011 la gent s’escolta un disc a Spotify. Però la tendència general és a comprar discos… durs externs on emmagatzemar descàrregues directes. A l’any 2011, fins i tot aquell mantra del “i si m’agrada, me’l compro” s’ha anat esvaïnt i el seu lloc ara l’ocupa la falsa creença que “el vinil torna”: ni mai ha marxat, ni les xifres de vendes són prou significatives com per descriure el seu impacte com a residual.

Però a l’any 2011 encara s’han publicat discos. Centenars. Milers. Fins i tot el catàleg d’Spotify es queda curt. Repassant la llista de discos que m’he escoltat, i la que em queden pendents per escoltar, guanya la darrera, i, quan acabi 2012, estaré com ara, escoltant-me discos de l’any anterior que encara tenia pendents. Però què importa quan s’ha publicat un disc? En aquest 2011 he gaudit tant o més descobrint joies oblidades dels anys 50 que escoltant les darreres novetats d’allò que suposadament és tendència. De discos encara se’n publiquen ja que, tot i que mica en mica van canviant determinades preconcepcions, sense un disc és molt improbable aconseguir concerts, gires, bolos… allò que se suposa que al segle XXI ha de ser el modus vivendi d’un músic, l’escenari.

De totes les novetats discogràfiques que 2011 ens ha portat, he fet una tria com l’any passat: tots aquells que m’han emocionat més d’una manera o d’una altra. I el resultat han estat 168. L’ordre d’aquesta llista és alfabètic i no hi ha distinció de gèneres, ni nacionalitats. El ressò mediàtic no s’ha tingut en compte, ni tampoc la seva popularitat o suposada vàlua artística: és un recull subjectiu i visceral. Si no hi és una referència determinada, potser és premeditat (per això no hi són ni Bon Iver, ni James Blake, ni Manel, per exemple), o potser és que se m’ha passat per alt. O potser se m’ha passat premeditadament i sence encert per alt: serà un plaer llegir les vostres impressions.
